Upon leaving Manosque, take the D907, and then the D82 in the direction of Gréoux-les-Bains. Visit the old village on foot with the ruins of the old castle as a back drop.
Take the direction of Riez, and then right on the D315 towards Esparron du Verdon. The road meanders along the artificial lake and offers fantastic views. Visit Esparron (château des Castellane).
Continue by way of Quinson, and then on the D311 towards St Laurent du Verdon. After St Laurent take a right on the D211 until Montpezat.
At the top of the village turn right towards Baudinard, and then left for Bauduen so as to reach the dam of Ste Croix.

Then head for Aiguines, either on the D71 or on the D19 a bit further on. By following the D71 you will begin the visit of the Gorges of the Verdon on what is known as "la corniche sublime", the Fayer tunnels, the Mescle balconies, after which you take a left on the D90 to go to Trigance (a medieval village). You rejoin the D955, take a left and then, in Pont-de-Soleils take the D 952 on the left in the direction of Palud-sur-Verdon. Now you will be following the right bank of the river Verdon (you can also follow the "Route des Crêtes" on your left with its numerous view points of the Escalès, the Glacières and the Imbut, which means a route which will be an extra 15 miles).

After La Palud there are several more panoramic views with the view points of the col d'Ayen, Mayreste and Galetas before arriving in Moustiers-Ste-Marie, a very picturesque village located in a gash of the cliff which it backs against. Visit the Earthenware Museum which made the village famous, a village which originally owed its existence to a monastery founded in the 5th century by St Maxime, Bishop of Riez, and the monks from the Abbaye de Lérins. Now head for Riez on the D952, and then for Valensole on the D6, through the lavender fields. Then take the direction of Oraison on the D15 and then the D4. At La Brillanne you will join again the N100 to return to Apt through Forcalquier.
