The Mont Ventoux

Take the N100 in the direction of Avignon, after Coustellet head for Carpentras. Depending on the time of day, keep the visit of L'Isle sur la Sorgue and Pernes les Fontaines for the way back, or for tomorrow's circuit. In Carpentras take the D938 to go to Malaucène, with a stop off in Le Barroux. In Malaucène take a right and begin climbing the Mont Ventoux by the North side.

When visibility is good (in the morning, with a lot of wind, or after heavy rain) you can see as far as the Mediterranean Sea to the South and the Mont Blanc to the North. Go back down towards the valley by the Southern side. When you arrive at the Chalet Reynard take a left towards Bedouin and Carpentras. You can visit this town.

Return by way of Pernes les Fontaines, which, as promised by its name, has a lot of fountains, and is a very beautiful village.

Last stage of the day can be l'Isle sur la Sorgue, the paradise of all with a love for antiques and ancient objects.

A beautiful town, also known as the "Venice of Provence" due to the different arms of the River Sorgue which run through it. Return to Apt on the N100.
